You know that you should quit
using marijuana, but do you know why you should quit? Most importantly, you
should quit because it's illegal. Is the temporary high that you get worth
going to prison? Chances are that if you are smoking marijuana, one day you
will get caught. If you end up in jail, you will put your relationship with
family and friends at risk. What will happen to your children, if you have
them? If you're a teenager, what will your parents do to help you? No matter
what age or stage of your life you are in, you are putting your future at risk.
We have all heard it, but it
bears repeating; the use of marijuana leads to the use of harder drugs.
Marijuana seems harmless, but eventually it isn't going to be enough. The high
won't last long enough or someone will tell you about something that you will
like better. You don't want recreational marijuana use to turn into a full
blown addiction to cocaine or heroin or one of the many other recreational
drugs. Finally, marijuana is bad for you and it can be expensive. Save your
lungs and use your money for something worthwhile.
The how to quit is the hard part.
The most important thing to remember when trying to stop using marijuana is to
simply break ties with your friends who use marijuana. These are people who you
shouldn't be around because they will only encourage you - whether
intentionally or not - to keep smoking marijuana. Breaking ties with these
people will be the best way to stop this habit for good. You are simply going
to have to make a pledge to yourself. It is never easy to give up a bad habit,
but it will make you feel better about yourself and you will be glad you did
it.
